The Briggs Racecourse Irrigator has been developed specifically for the demands of the modern Racing World and has been introduced on many courses both here in the UK and around the world.

Accurate and uniform application across the width and length of the track are essential to provide even going and keep the turf in top condition. With the Briggs Racecourse Irrigation package this is possible in all but the worst of weather conditions.

A drive system has been developed to apply very high flow rates at very high speed so that the track can be watered as quickly as possible.

The independent drive system also means that the machine can be used on most racecourses without any modification to pumps or underground mains.

Hosereels and booms are all simple to set up and transport making moving to and from the course quick and easy. The boom is lifted hydraulically on to the hosereel at the end of irrigation with no lifting or carrying involved. The unit can then be towed with a small tractor.
Both the hosereels and booms are supplied with low ground pressure wheels to avoid damage to the course.

Even jumps can be cleared with ease using a hydraulic lift system designed for the purpose. This makes irrigation of landings and take off points simple and accurate.
Bends can be negotiated using bend pegs (shown left) designed specifically for continuous irrigation around the course.

Other advantages of using the Briggs Racecourse Irrigator are as follows.

The machine is always working on dry ground
Very low losses to wind drift due to the controlled droplet size
Application rate can be varied between 1 - 35mm
Control panel indicates run speed and shuts down the machine in the event of a problem
All outlets have a ball valve allowing the irrigated width to be as narrow as 4m if required
All outlets are pressure regulated to 10 psi ensuring even flow through all nozzles
Nozzle packages can be supplied to apply varying amounts across the width of the track
